Perfume for Indian weather
Published 21 October 2026
India doesn't have one climate. A spray that feels right in a Bengaluru evening can feel heavy in a Chennai afternoon and thin on a Delhi winter night. Every Kassira formula is compounded at 30% Extrait de Parfum and twisted for the Indian climate, but choosing for your weather still makes the biggest difference. Here is how we think about it.
Heat and humidity: Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kochi
Humid heat makes perfume bloom. Sweet and heavy notes get louder, while fresh notes can lift off fast. Choose clean, airy formulas with a solid base underneath.
- Formula N°11 Deep Water: green mandarin, marine notes and cypress.
- Formula N°12 Glacier Salt: apple, lemon and star anise over ambergris and driftwood.
- Formula N°10 Blue Cedar: citrus and mint over cedar and musk, for the office.
Spray on skin and lightly on clothes. Fabric holds fresh notes well when skin is warm.
Dry heat: Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad summers
Dry air makes perfume fade faster on skin. Formulas with a deeper base hold up better, so pick fresh openings over woods and amber.
- Formula N°10 Blue Cedar.
- Formula N°13 Golden Smoke: fruit and bergamot over birch and oakmoss.
- Formula N°02 Sicilian Sugar: Sicilian citrus over white musk and vanilla.
Moisturise first. Unscented lotion gives perfume something to hold on to.
Monsoon: everywhere, June to September
Rain mutes scent and cool evenings arrive early. Daytime calls for fresh and mineral; evenings can go warmer than in summer.
- Day: Formula N°11 Deep Water or Formula N°12 Glacier Salt.
- Evening: Formula N°05 Saffron Hide, Formula N°08 Rum Velvet or Formula N°18 Cardamom Coffee.
Winter: North India, the hills, and every wedding season
Cold air holds scent close to the skin, so this is the season for the richest formulas in the house.
- Weddings and festive evenings: Formula N°01 Oud & Roses, Formula N°06 Nomad's Oud, Formula N°14 Caramel Ash.
- Warm and sweet: Formula N°16 Angel's Cognac, Formula N°17 Ember & Leaf.
Mild all year: Bengaluru, Pune
Mild weather is the easiest. Almost every cabinet works, so choose by occasion: Citrus for the office, Aromatic for a signature, Woods or Amber for evenings.
Air-conditioned offices
Cool, dry office air quiets perfume. A smooth, polished formula carries well without filling the room: Formula N°04 Smoke Wood, Formula N°10 Blue Cedar or Formula N°13 Golden Smoke.
How to wear perfume in the heat
- Spray on clean, moisturised skin: neck, wrists and the inside of the elbows.
- Don't rub your wrists together. Let it dry on its own.
- At 30%, start with two sprays. Add one if you need it.
- For a long day, fill The Decant from your bottle and carry it, instead of spraying more in the morning.
- Store bottles away from sunlight and out of the bathroom. Heat and steam age perfume fastest.
Not sure which one is yours?

Questions
What is the best perfume for Indian summers?
Fresh, clean formulas with a solid base: Deep Water, Glacier Salt or Blue Cedar.
Can I wear oud in summer?
Yes, lightly and in the evening. Smoke Wood is the easiest oud in warm weather.
Why does my perfume fade so fast in the heat?
Dry or warm skin lets perfume evaporate faster. Moisturise first and spray a little on clothes.
Is a 30% perfume too strong for hot weather?
Not if you start small. Two sprays at 30% go further than a lighter perfume, so you need fewer.
